Mike Current was born in Lima, OH on September 17, 1945 to Wayne and Clarice Current. Mike was a very skilled basketball player in high school, then he got into Football, which took him to The Ohio State University where he played football under Woody Hayes. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in 1967. Mike played in the NFL for 13 seasons, 9 with the Denver Broncos, 1 with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 3 with the Miami Dolphins.
Later Mike owned a fly in fishing camp in northern Canada called Angler Rapids Wilderness Lodge where he offered a first class fishing experience on the Churchill river. He also owned a Telemarketing Business in Denver, CO called CPSI for 13 years. CPSI was at one time the largest telemarketing company devoted to Cable television.
Mike was also a very skilled writer and he has completed 3 books. His first novel is called Bush Justice which is a thriller combining his love of crime stories and the Cree Indian culture. His second was his memoir of his days in the NFL called Rememberin. His third was the sequel to Bush Justice called Bush Justice II Return to the Mission.
Mike was a loving father, grandfather and friend and is survived by his sons J.T, Justin and Anthony.
He will be forever missed.
